Rethinking 1821: Greek Independence and its Transnational Contexts
A SSEES South-East European studies seminar with Prof Wendy Bracewell (University College London), Viron Karidis (London), Alex Drace-Francis (University of Amsterdam) and Elisavet Papalexopoulou (European University Institute)

To mark the 200th anniversary of the Greek War for Independence, the Centre is hosting a panel of new research on the events of 1821, with a particular emphasis on their transnational and Balkan dimensions. There will be three short papers of around 15-20 minutes, followed by a Q&A session. The panel forms part of the '21 in 21' series of events to support the bicentenary of the occasion.
